March 16 talk features author Bristol

The Friends of the Fredericksburg Nature Center will sponsor a workshop on “ Di s c ov e r ing Birds in Unlikely Places,” with a focus on guest speaker and author Jennifer Bristol’s most recent book, “Cemetery Birding.”

The workshop is scheduled for 10 a.m.12:30 p.m. Saturday, March 16 at the AgriLife Extension Office located at 38 Business Court in Fredericksburg. The first 30 people who register will be eligible to attend an optional onehour bird walk led by Bristol, starting at 1 p.m. at Greenwood Cemetery. Bristol is the former director of the Texas Children in Nature Program at the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, the 2018 and 2019 recipient of the Most Valuable Birder in the Great Texas Birding Classic and conducts guided walks for Travis Audubon.

Bristol is also the author of “Parking Lot Birding: A Fun Guide to Discovering Birds in Texas” and is a contributor to “Texas State Parks, the First 100 Years 1923-2023.”
